Earlier, Union Minority Affairs Minister, Kiren Rijiju had called for a harmonious session. While speaking to the reporters post an all party meeting on Sunday he called for a smooth session.
“The government is ready to discuss any topic. Our only request is that the House should run well and there should be no ruckus. Today morning, PM Modi said, “The last phase of 2024 is underway and the country is preparing for 2025. He urged all MP’s to take part in the session and discuss in a healthy manner. “The voters of India are dedicated to democracy, their dedication to the Constitution, their faith in the parliamentary working system, all of us sitting in the Parliament will have to live up to the sentiments of the people and this is the need of the hour.”
He added, “The only way to make up for it is that we should highlight various aspects of every subject in a very healthy manner in the House, the coming generations will also get inspiration from it. I hope that this session will be very fruitful. I once again invite all the respected MPs to take this session forward with zeal and enthusiasm”

Oppositions Meetings
Meanwhile, leaders of the INDI alliance held a meeting in parliament to strategise for the session. The opposition is likely to raise the Manipur, Sambhal violence and the Adani bribery case. Simultaneously, the opposition MP’s who are part of the JPC on the Waqf amendment bill will meet the Speaker at 10:30 am.
The Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in a post on X asked for a detailed discussion on the Adani case. He wrote, “As the Parliament session begins, the first step the government should take is to have a detailed discussion on the Adani saga which has the potential of tarnishing India’s image at the global stage.”
“This is what the INDIA bloc parties demand today, for the hard earned investments of crores of retail investors are at stake. We do not need monopolies and cartels to run this country. We need healthy market driven competition in the private sector, which facilitates equal opportunities, employment and equitable distribution of wealth, catering to the inherent entrepreneurial spirit of India,” he added.
