Muhammad Yunus, Bangladesh’s self-proclaimed reformer, is playing a dangerous game with India’s security. His recent 4-day visit to Beijing wasn’t about diplomacy. Instead, it was a blueprint for a proxy war. In return, Bangladesh obtained $2.1 billion in Chinese funding through investments, loans, and grants for various projects.
This includes a $400 million loan for upgrading Mongla Port, which was a long time target of the P.R.C.
Another $350 million for developing the CEIZ and $150 million in technical support. Moreover, around 30 Chinese firms have pledged to invest $1 billion in the CEIZ. Thus, Yunus is ready to pit China against India. By aligning with China and hinting at severing India’s fragile connection to its northeastern seven sister states, Yunus is laying the groundwork for a geopolitical chokehold. His “50-year master plan” request to China on water management is nothing but a smokescreen for Beijing’s creeping influence into South Asia.
If India isn’t alarmed, it should be!!!

Recently, Yunus made a statement in Beijing about India’s northeastern states being “isolated by the sea.” This wasn’t an offhand remark, it was a veiled threat to Bharat. The statement subtly points to the Siliguri Corridor. This narrow strip of land, known as the “chicken’s neck,” connects India’s mainland to its northeastern states.
The 22-km wide Chicken Neck is India’s Achilles’ heel.
With China already breathing down Arunachal Pradesh’s neck and Pakistan infiltrating Bangladesh under Yunus, the Deep State lapdog is offering the soon-to-be East Pakistan as the third prong in this strategic pincer.

By calling China the “guardian of the sea” and inviting it to extend its influence, Yunus is essentially signaling Bangladesh’s willingness to act as China’s southern flank. The goal? To counter India’s influence in the Bay of Bengal by allowing Chinese bases in the region. Additionally, these bases would be useful in attempting to isolate India’s northeast from the mainland. Thereby, creating a vulnerability that Beijing could exploit in the event of a conflict.
Yunus’ call for a 50-year water management master plan is equally sinister.
Breaking: Yunus formally asks China’s Water Resources Minister Li Guoying to present a “50-year masterplan” to manage Bangladesh’s river and water system.

With China building the massive Yarlung Zangbo Dam on the Brahmaputra River in Tibet, the project could weaponize water flow into Bangladesh and India. Yunus wants India to be held hostage to China’s whims. In case of a conflict, Beijing could flood or choke the Brahmaputra, devastating Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and other northeastern states. To ensure an upper hand over India, Yunus wants Bangladesh to become the willing pawn of the Chinese dragon.
Yunus’ New Axis: Reviving Pakistan’s 1971 Dream

In a perverse twist of history, the forces behind Yunus are attempting to erase the memory of the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. Moreover, Yunus himself is trying to rehabilitate ties with Pakistan. To him, Pakistan is an “Aaka” and not the very nation that committed genocide against his people. Moreover, he gains additional brownies points by cozying up to China who is Pakistan’s iron brother. So, what is the objective?
Yunus and his Deep State masters want a new Bangladesh-China-Pakistan axis that could destabilize India’s eastern flank.
By seeking Chinese intervention in water management, Yunus is creating a dependency that could transform Bangladesh into a Chinese vassal state. He ignores how Pakistan and Srilanka or even Maldives have suffered by bowing to the Chinese Dragon! To him, fomenting separatist movements in India by allowing Chinese influence in the Bay of Bengal is a “masterstroke.” And his Jamaat-e-Islami are a willing accomplice with Yunus in bleeding Bharat any way possible.

Unfortunately, Bangladeshis are held politically hostage to the very same Jamaat-e-Islami that were complicit in the 1971 massacres. These fanatics and terrorists are now Yunus’ closest allies and “advisors”. The Bangladeshi police, under Yunus’ orders, are brutally suppressing protests demanding free elections—turning the streets into war zones.
Behind the scenes, Bangladesh’s military is reportedly considering a coup to remove Yunus’ pro-Pakistan cum pro-China regime.
The winds from the region tell a tale of how fragile and chaotic Bangladesh has become under Yunus’ Deep State rule.
How It Hits India: A Looming Border Firestorm
Yunus’ China gambit has direct and dire consequences for India. Here’s how:
The Northeast Squeeze: By inviting China to treat Bangladesh as an extension of its sphere of influence, Yunus is placing bets against India’s northeastern states. If China militarizes the Bay of Bengal through Bangladesh, India’s access to the northeast shall only be through the chicken neck. Additionally, Bharat’s security establishment would be forced to divert significant resources to defend its eastern border. Thus, weakening its focus on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China and Western borders with Pakistan.
Weaponizing Water: The proposed Chinese water management plan could weaponize river flows into India. The Yarlung Zangbo Dam would give Beijing the ability to control or reduce the Brahmaputra’s flow into India. During monsoons, China could release excess water, flooding Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Similarly, in drier months, it could choke the flow to devastate agriculture and water supplies.
Chinese Influence in the Bay of Bengal: If Bangladesh hands over river and sea infrastructure to China, Beijing could expand its military presence in the Bay of Bengal. This would allow China to monitor and control crucial maritime routes. Thus, threatening India’s strategic interests and cutting off its northeastern trade routes.
BRICS Caught in the Crossfire: Yunus’ pro-China stance may strain India’s delicate balance with Russia. While Moscow and Beijing are strategic partners, India has a unique relationship with Russia. If China tightens its grip on Bangladesh, Moscow would be pushed to choose between its two BRICS partners. This would dilute BRICS’ influence and strain partnerships.
No More Diplomacy, India Must Act
Yunus’ actions are not just unethical – they are illegal. As a caretaker, his job is to establish peace in the nation and facilitate elections. However, he is treating Bangladesh as his personal kingdom. He is colluding with China and Pakistan to turn Bangladesh into a launchpad for hybrid warfare against India.
Additionally, Yunus’ alignment with the Jamaat-e-Islami is a direct threat Hindus and Bangladesh’s democracy.
The current political protest led by BNP are Bangladesh’s last line of defense for the crumbling semblence of democrcay. If Yunus schemes succeed, India will face a multi-front war with Pakistan and China — from the west, north, and the northeast.
To counter Yunus’ destabilizing moves, India must act now. The time for quiet diplomacy via delegations or subtle geopolitical cold shoulders is over. India needs a bold, multi-pronged response to show Yunus not play around in Bharat’s backyard. The Deep State’s devious China dreams should not be allowed to flourish as a full-blown geopolitical nightmare.
