The horrifying incident is going viral online with the help of social media. West Bengal has already earned a bad name in the nation for the notorious Sandeshkhali violence. And this assault reminds the people of two shameful incidents at Sandeshkhali and Manipur.
The BJP alleges that Khatun was targeted by TMC supporters in broad daylight at the Ramthenga Market in the Mathabhanga Assembly of Coochbehar district.
She was dragged by her hair and stripped to be paraded for one kilometer. Later she was brutally beaten by the TMC supporters/goons. Rosonara Khatun has submitted her FIR for the same. However, the state police have presented a contrary viewpoint, which the BJP Alleges is an attempt to brush the incident under the carpet.
The police claim that the assault was a consequence of a local dispute among the women working in the area.
Thus, they argue that no men were involved and the three women who perpetrated this violence are under arrest. Moreover, the West Bengal police have also arrested the brother-in-law of Khatun who clicked her picture after the assault. And his phone has also been taken away for forensic investigation. Thus, while a BJP supporter suffers, the police claim personal vengeance as a cause. This is the sad reality of common people under TMC rule.

The BJP is shaming the TMC government for its efforts to hide the reality of the incident under false arrests and intimidation tactics. They imply that every village in Bengal is now a Sandeshkhali! Khatun’s terrifying ordeal has left her hospitalized and emotionally scarred.
BJP IT Cell head, Amit Malviya, highlighted the plight of Khatun since the election results were declared on 4th June 2024.
He emphasized that Rosonara Khatun, since the announcement of the election results, has been living in fear and avoiding public appearances due to threats from TMC goons. This is yet another black mark against the TMC in the post-poll violence against its political opponents.
Thankfully, the NCW has strongly condemned and demanded a detailed action report within three days.
In their official statement, the NCW ask for a promt arrest of the accused. They also demand that the victim be provided free medical treatment. The NCW asks the local police to include relevant provisions of the IPC in the FIR to ensure justice.

The BJP in West Bengal workers and supporters face continuous threats and violence from the ruling TMC. And this latest incident with Khatun adds to a growing list of violent acts against BJP supporters. The assault on Khatun has ignited a fervent call for justice from the BJP India. The nation is wondering why the BJP at the center is not acting on these gross violations of human rights. Where is the Congress ka ‘Jananayak’ and his cabal of human rights groups? Will they not fight for a minority woman just because she is a BJP supporters?
