What inspired you to establish The Sham Sharma Show, and how does your personal background influence the topics you cover?
My journey as a YouTuber started purely out of passion and quickly grew into something much more significant. In 2017, I began posting regular videos on politics. Recognizing the need to broaden my reach, two years later, I also launched an English channel to reach a global audience. My aim was to convey an Indian perspective on global issues through this channel. With a deep interest in the political discourse and cultural heritage of India, I felt compelled to share my insights. A combination of information, entertainment, and cultural roots continues to drive my commitment to creating impactful content for my audience.
Your content often delves into political and cultural issues. Could you elaborate on your process for selecting and researching these topics?
My process for selecting and researching topics is a blend of intuition and thorough investigation. Initially, I rely on instinct to identify subjects that are timely and resonate with my audience’s interests.
Maintaining accuracy and fairness is crucial in political commentary. How do you ensure these standards are met in your content?
 I collect information directly from Verified Articles, research papers, academic journals, official reports, and comprehensive studies. I also consider insights from my Team. This blend of firsthand experience and thorough research ensures my content is both credible and engaging for my audience.
How was the book launch and is that the reason you are in India?
For a while, I’d been yearning to return to India, but the right moment never seemed to come. However, Kushal’s book launch became the perfect occasion to make my way back to my homeland. The event was nothing short of splendid; it drew a larger crowd than we had anticipated, with esteemed personalities like Smita Prakash, Anand Ranganathan, Sushant Sareen, and more gracing the occasion. Yet, beyond the celebration, my return also carried a deeper purpose—to save Indian democracy from Narendra modi. (Smiles)
How are you liking meeting Kushal Mehra and AIM in person for the first time?
I’ve known Kushal and Abhijit for several years now, and we’ve been great friends. However, meeting them in person in India was truly special. The personal connection we established, after knowing each other for so long, was incredibly fulfilling, making the experience truly unforgettable.
I also had the pleasure of witnessing Abhijit’s Legendary peace dance in person, which added an extra layer of enjoyment to my Indian trip.
Discuss some of the challenges you encounter when discussing sensitive or controversial subjects on your platform. How do you navigate these challenges?
Discussing sensitive or controversial subjects on my platform comes with several challenges, such as potential backlash and navigating censorship. To handle these challenges, I approach each topic with thorough research and factual accuracy.
For example, in my video “Rise of Ex-Muslims in India,” I ensured not to target any religion’s faith or harbor any such intention. I double-check my videos to ensure there are no personal attacks and that no one’s personal beliefs are offended. This careful approach helps me maintain respectful, informative and engaging content while addressing sensitive issues.
Feedback from viewers can be varied and sometimes critical. How do you handle differing opinions and feedback from your audience?

I approach differing opinions with an open mind, recognizing that diverse perspectives can enhance the quality of my content. However,YouTube’s algorithms tend to be biassed towards the left wing. Despite this, YouTube remains an important medium for exploring Indic and Dharmic perspectives.
Are there any upcoming projects or directions you envision for The Sham Sharma Show?
Yes, we are considering a shift in the direction of our channel. During Modi’s first two terms, we focused on countering leftist and anti-India propaganda, exposing and debunking false narratives. However, as India progresses towards becoming a global power in Modi’s third term, we plan to ensure that the Indic narrative is promoted more widely.
Our new focus will be on setting the political narrative centred around India’s emergence as a superpower and its Dharmic identity. We aim to disseminate this narrative on a larger scale, reinforcing India’s cultural and geopolitical significance.
For aspiring content creators interested in political commentary, what advice would you offer based on your experience?
It’s crucial not to perceive YouTube merely as a financial avenue. Start making videos only if you really love doing it. Furthermore, achieving success on YouTube takes a lot of persistence and patience. For those aspiring to delve into political commentary, it’s essential to stay well-informed, cultivate self-confidence, conduct thorough research, actively engage with your audience, maintain consistency, listen to feedback, uphold your authenticity, and adhere to legal guidelines.
