India’s history tells countless tales of valor and sacrifice, but few compare to Rana Sanga’s unmatched bravery. This Rajput warrior fought fiercely against foreign invasions, including Babur’s Mughal forces. His body bore over 80 wounds, and he lost an arm and an eye in battle, yet he never abandoned his mission to defend his land. However, a Samajwadi Party MP recently called him a ‘traitor,’ triggering outrage among political leaders and historians.

Despite losing an arm and an eye, Rana Sanga never wavered in his fight to defend his people.

The Fierce Battle Against Babur

Rana Sanga’s most significant battle unfolded in 1527 at Khanwa, where he led a coalition of Rajput warriors against Babur’s advancing army. He fought with unmatched determination, but Babur’s superior artillery and betrayal by Rajput allies turned the tide in favor of the Mughals. Even after suffering serious injuries, he refused to surrender and planned a counterattack. However, his own nobles poisoned him, fearing another war.

Recent Controversy Over ‘Traitor’ Remark

Rana Sanga remains a celebrated hero, but Samajwadi Party MP Ramji Lal Suman recently ignited controversy by calling him a ‘traitor’ during a parliamentary session. His statement angered the Rajput community, historians, and BJP leaders, who condemned this distortion of history.

BJP leaders immediately slammed the remark, arguing that Rana Sanga defended India’s sovereignty against foreign invaders. Historians also pointed out that his resistance against Babur inspired later warriors like Maharana Pratap and Chhatrapati Shivaji.

Rana Sanga’s Enduring Legacy

Despite political debates, Rana Sanga’s legacy as a fearless warrior remains untarnished. He fought relentlessly for Rajput unity, Hindu sovereignty, and resistance against foreign rule. His bravery continues to inspire generations, reminding everyone that true warriors fight not for personal gain but for their people, their culture, and their motherland.
