Pakistani Peacefuls Rejoice At Muder

PC X @Imran_Khan_512: The Alleged Victim

The victim of this hate crime was a ‘peaceful’ tourist assumed to be Mohammed Ismail. He was a resident of Sialkot, district in Pakistani Punjab province, and was visiting Swat Valley. The locals of Swat accused him of setting fire to pages of the Quran. Upon their complaint, the police initially took him into custody to prevent any law and order situation. But the local mosques and moving vehicles spread the news of blasphemy! And soon a outraged group of zombies came together in ‘peace’! Thereafter, the enraged mob stormed the police station and dragged the accused out chanting – ‘Allahu Akbar’. They burnt down the police station. Additionally, they hamed police personnel and vehicles causing injury to eight people in the ensuing chaos.

Thereafter, the mob brutally lynched the victim and set him on fire.

Videos of this burning are running viral on social media. The inhuman perpetrators danced and rejoiced at the death of the tourist. Unfortunately, the crime of the victim who was set ablaze remains unproven! The jubilations of the Pakistani zombie mob show how low humanity has sunk in this nation.

Pakistani Intolerance – A Recurring Nightmare

Incidents of Nikah Slavery of Hindu and Sikh women reveal themselves every day. Christian churches and Hindu temples face a grim exitence in Pakistan. They are either burnt down or defaced by Pakistani ‘peacefuls’. The forced comversions and oppression are celebrated on social media by the zombies.

Thus, the dwindling number of Pakistani minorities shows the world what true religious intolerance in a society looks like.

This tragic event of setting a man ablaze by the rule of mobocracy is not an isolated incident. In May 2024, an elderly Christian man named Nazir Masih was lynched by a mob in Sargodha city, Punjab province, over similar allegations of blasphemy. Masih’s only ‘crime’ was unknowingly burning debris that contained pages from the Quran.

A Nation in Edge

These incidents are symptomatic of a larger issue plaguing Pakistan: the rise of radical Islamist ideologies. Pakistan as a community and as a nation is teetering on the edge of sanity.

Its radical religious leaders and their teachings increasingly influence societal norms. The government’s inability to control such mobs or protect minorities highlights a severe governance crisis. The country’s legal system is almost defunct. And its social frameworks perpetuate violence and intolerance in the name of faith.

A Call for Change

Pakistan’s increasing intolerance is a dire warning sign. The nation must address the radical influences that threaten its social cohesion and stability. The need of the hour are urgent legal and educational reforms. Only these can curb the rising extremism and mob mentality in the region. Additionally, a culture of tolerance and understanding needs to be promoted in the nation. Without decisive action, Pakistan risks further descending into chaos and violence, driven by the unchecked power of radical ideologies.

The incidents at Sialkot and other parts of Pakistan are shocking. However, they represnt a stark reality of the human cost of religious intolerance. Therefore, it is imperative for Pakistani society to reflect on these tragedies and work towards a more just and tolerant future.
