Jamia Millia Islamia has once again made headlines for all the wrong reasons. Its next-gen-andolanjivi students are “celebrating” the fifth anniversary of the anti-CAA protests. It seems this government-funded institution is at the heart of Bharat’s pro-radicalism, provocative slogans, and misinformation. The question arises – why do Jamia Milia Islamia students glorify anti-CAA protests that destabilized the nation and spread lies? Why do central authorities allow universities to spread lies and agendas?
Jamia Milia Islamia – Epicenter of Anti-CAA Sentiments

Jamia Millia Islamia was supposedly established as a center of learning, research, and innovation. Instead, it has repeatedly become the epicenter of radical political provocation and chaos. Many analysts show how these institutes fuel Pakistani agneda on Indian soil. In 2019, during the anti-CAA protests, Jamia Milia Islamia was at the forefront of the misinformation campaign against the Modi government.
The Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) was passed to provide refuge to persecuted minorities – Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Christians, and Parsis – from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh.
And this is how the "peaceful" protests at #JamiaMilia began!!
Rioters are openly seen damaging public transport buses, telling each other to hunt for 'Bharat Sarkar' cars & damage them. They're also creating panic by spreading rumours of students being killed!! #CABProtests pic.twitter.com/FHKLIhmNZF— Priti Gandhi (@MrsGandhi) December 16, 2019
Yet, false narratives were spread within Jamia’s walls claiming the Act was “anti-Muslim” and would take away citizenship. Moreover, this blatant lie was fed into “toolkit” echo chambers. Students, led by CONgress and LeLi organizations like AISA and NSUI, hijacked the discourse. “Tera Mera Rishta Kya, La Ilaha Illallah” and “Hum Kya Chahte? Azadi” echoed through Jamia’s corridors – slogans not of peaceful dissent but of dangerous communal provocation.
Provocation over Truth: Jamia Milia Islamia Fifth Anniversary “Celebration”
"Tera Mera Rishta Kya, La Ilaha Illallah" and "Hum Kya Chahte? Azadi,"
All these slogans were raised at Jamia Millia Islamia, a centrally funded institute today. The students, while making all these provocative Islamic slogans, are celebrating the fifth anniversary of the… pic.twitter.com/j90QXA3P70

On 16th December 2024, Jamia Millia Islamia witnessed a repeat of its controversial legacy. Student groups organized an event to “commemorate” the anti-CAA protests. The university administration, perhaps anticipating trouble, suspended classes and restricted campus access. This move was met with cries of “Delhi Police Go Back” and accusations of suppressing free speech.
Videos showed students chanting the same divisive slogans that fueled the 2019 protests.
Once more, after 5 years, the chants of “Tera Mera Rishta Kya, La Ilaha Illallah” rang at Jamia Milia Islamia. Hence, the nationalist in Bharat asks – what exactly were these “students” celebrating? The violence that ensued thanks to their misinformation camapigns? Or the lies that misled the Indian Muslim community to lose faith in government? Or are they marking the day their “toolkit” almost ensured a political chaos that almost destabilized the nation?
The administration’s decision to close the campus was practical and justified. Yet, student bodies accused it of stifling dissent. Thereby, proving once again that Jamia Milia Islamia is more focused on radicalism, convesion, or ideological battles instead of academic excellence.
Jamia Milia Islamia: An Institution or a Platform for Agendas?
Jamia Millia Islamia’s growing reputation as a hub for sensational political radicalism is a matter of national concern. Non-Muslim students and faculty allegdly face pressure for conversion. Additionally, any form of refusal to convert results in discrimination. Hence, the university is a hotbed for hardline Islamism.
Thus, many question the reigns of control over the institute. Morever, the current “celebraions” make people wonder why a publicly funded university allows student groups to glorify protests based on misinformation?
Why are slogans like “La Ilaha Illallah” – with clear communal overtones – allowed to dominate space in Jamia Milia Islamia?

Instead of focusing on the truth that the CAA helps persecuted minorities find refuge in India – Jamia Milia Islamia has become a launchpad for divisive ideologies. Students are misled by unions and leaders into believing that their “protests” are about freedom. However, in reality, they fuel narratives that harm national unity.
The CAA: Truth vs. Jamia’s Falsehoods
The CAA does not affect Indian Muslims. It does not take away citizenship. It does not target any community. What it does is provide a safe haven for persecuted minorities from Islamic nations. In Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan – Hindus, Sikhs, and Christians face unspeakable atrocities.
Forced conversions, kidnappings, and temple destruction are everyday realities for non-Muslims in India’s neighboring nations.
India, as the torchbearer of Sanatan Dharma, has stepped forward to give these communities a chance at life and dignity. The CAA is a humanitarian law, not a communal one. Yet, Jamia Millia Islamia and their andolanjivis continue to allow falsehoods to fester within its walls, turning students into pawns for political agendas. Since its implementaion, no Indian Muslim lost any rights or faced persecution for it. The center must decide if institute like Jamia Millia Islamia can continue to be a breeding ground for misinformation and provocation or face action.
Celebrating the anti-CAA protests on its fifth anniversary is not an act of dissent; it is a glorification of chaos and lies.
