After Manipur, it seems Nagaland is the target for Pakistan’s ISI! In the digital age, misinformation spreads rapidly, often blurring the lines between reality and fabrication. A recent example is the emergence of ‘Sofia Naga.’ The woman is a self-proclaimed Naga nationalist and activist.
She posted a video of herself burning the Indian flag and calling for Nagaland’s independence. However, upon closer examination, her narrative unravels, revealing inconsistencies and potential foreign influence. The facade is so thin even Alt News’ Zubair unmasked her as a fraud!!
The ‘Sofia Naga’ Phenomenon and Nagaland
On 30th March 2025, a social media account named ‘Sofia Naga’ surfaced on Twitter. On 31st March 2025, the account shared a video of a woman burning the Indian flag. She claimed this act was a form of resistance against alleged oppression in Nagaland. Cut to 15 days later, she posts a subsequent video depicting her with bruises, alleging assault by the Indian Army.
The perfect activist and the perfect oppression were presented for public consumption!
However, Naga residents proclaim that her accent doesn’t align with any Naga dialect. Eagle-eyed netizens spot a tattoo bearing a non-Naga name on her forearm. Thus, raising questions about her authenticity. Furthermore, the account’s rapid growth proves that the account and the act are a coordinated propaganda effort in the name of Nagaland.
How do we know:
- The first picture used by her is at least 3 years old from Pinterest.
- The YouTube channel that shared the original video has only 3 videos – one of the disintegration of Bharat made 5 months ago and the other two are of Sofia Naga!
- The account followers are Khalistanis, Pakistanis, or Bangladeshis. Not a single Naga activist or resident knows her.
The plan is so see-through, that even AltNews‘ Mohammed Zubair called out her lies. Her story and her attempts are obvious to all. It seems that ISI wants to incite unrest in Bharat as it heads towards its own implosion.
Nagaland’s Journey with India
Contrary to ‘Sofia Naga’s’ claims, Nagaland’s integration into India has been marked by significant milestones:
- 1963: The 16-Point Agreement between the Naga People’s Convention and the Indian government laid the foundation for Nagaland’s statehood.
- 1975: The Shillong Accord saw underground Naga groups accepting the Indian Constitution and agreeing to surrender arms.
- 2015: A historic peace Framework Agreement was signed between the Indian government and the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-IM), aiming to end decades of insurgency.
Certain segments of the Framework Agreement were unilaterally terminated by the NSCN-IM. The Modi administration has been trying to finalise this last accord since 2015. However, the NSCN-IM insists on separate flag and autonomous control of the region. Thereby, ensuring a prolonged delay in negotiations. These agreements highlight how Naga leaders and the Indian government are trying to ensure peace while coming to a resolution of the conflict!
Real Agenda Behind ‘Sofia Naga’ Nagaland Propaganda
The emergence of ‘Sofia Naga’ aligns with tactics observed in other regions. Misinformation is used to destabilize and grab unwanted attention to internal disagreements. By portraying India and its Army as an oppressor, such narratives aim to sow discord and distrust. They also undermine any attempt to resolve differences in the nation.
Thus, it’s essential to recognize and challenge these attempts by Sofia Nagas of the world!
While ‘Sofia Naga’ seeks to rewrite Nagaland’s narrative with hate, Indian social media needs to beware. Interacting or uplifting such a divisive agenda is dangerous to the security of the nation. It’s crucial to remain vigilant against such disinformation campaigns that are by now a well known ISI tactic. Let’s uphold the truth and unmask such Sofias of the world to ensure India’s diverse and united fabric stays unstained.
