Must Read

Saraswati Puja organization is under attack in TMC’s West Bengal. A shocking incident has emerged from Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri Law College, Kolkata. Reportedly, Hindu students were prevented from organizing Saraswati Puja, one of Bengal’s most revered traditions. The alleged mastermind behind this obstruction is Mohammad Shabbir Ali – the General Secretary of the West Bengal State Trinamool Chhatra Parishad! Reports state that not only he tried to block the puja but also allegedly threatened students, including female students, with rape and murder.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage. BJP leaders slam the TMC for its anti-Hindu stance and appeasement politics. This Saraswati Puja controversy takes on an even deeper political significance as the college in question. The collge shares the same campus as the alma mater of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee.

According to reports, Mohammed Sabbir Ali stormed into the college and openly threatened students who were planning to conduct Saraswati Puja. Reportedly, Sabbir Ali and his gang also harass the college principal Pankaj Roy. He stated:

“These people are not students. They demand money, harass teachers, and dictate college activities as if they run the institution. I have faced threats before, and this incident is not the first.”

Despite formal complaints being lodged, the West Bengal police are yet to take action. Thereby, fueling suspicions of political shielding.

A Repeat Offender: A Pattern of Targeting Hindu Festivals

This is not an isolated case. Under the TMC’s rule, Hindu festivals in West Bengal face repeated obstructions, restrictions, and outright bans. CM Mamata’s government tries to phrase their restriction for Durga idol immersion using “law and order” concerns. However, free rein is accorded to other “peaceful” religious processions. This incident at Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri Law College follows a disturbing yet known pattern.

Currently, the Calcutta HC has asked the Saraswati Puja to be protected by the police.

The enitre puja shall be recorded as proof to be presented in the court on 5th February 2025!

BJP General Secretary of West Bengal, Agnimitra Paul, condemned the incident in strong words. He states that this yet another example of how CM Mamata Banerjee’s party suppresses Hindu traditions for vote-bank politics. Additionally, he calls it a direct assault on Bengal’s culture. Many wonder why TMC leaders are so afraid to speak in favor of Hindu rituals. Analysts worry about why the police allow such incidents of intimidation to occur under their watch.

Thus, the question now is, how much longer will Bengal tolerate such blatant appeasement to intolerance?

West Bengal Hindus Suffers Due To “Peaceful” Appeasement

What makes this incident even more disturbing is that Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri Law College shares the campus of CM Mamata Banerjee’s alma mater. This campus is where she studied, and today it seems like a breeding ground for anti-Hindu politics. TMC-backed goons openly suppressing Hindu traditions.

This raises serious questions:
  • How can Mamata Banerjee claim to protect Bengali culture when Hindu students in her own college campus face religious persecution?
  • If students and even the principal are feeling helpless, what does it say about the state’s law and order?
  • Why has she remained silent on this issue?

TMC leaders often claim to be “secular,” but their secularism seems to imply suppressing Hindu voices while empowering “peaceful’ fundamentalists. Thus, this incident is not just about one puja or one college. This is about a pattern of targeted suppression against Hindus in West Bengal.

If a simple Saraswati Puja is not allowed in an educational institution, what does the future hold for Hindus in the state?

This dangerous appeasement politics is not a simple West Bengal issue, it might mean that Hindus are in grave danger of losing their rights to worship! Today, it is Saraswati Puja that faces suppression. Tomorrow, it will be every Hindu festival, every tradition, and eventually, every voice of Bharatiya identity.

Will Mamata Banerjee allow such blatant “peaceful” threats, what kind of future is she building for Hindus in Bengal? If the police refuse to act against such criminals, what message does it send to anti-Hindu elements? If Bengal doesn’t resist this now, will the rest of India be safe from such politics in the future? Hindus of Bengal are watching as their identity suffers under “peaceful” appeasement. This is the price exacted from secular Hindus across Bharat!

Will Bengal ever be able to rise against this “peaceful” oppression?

Or will TMC’s freebies continue its unchecked assault on Hindu identity?
